Want to swim? Afraid to? Believe it or not, you can. Whether or not you have taken swimming lessons before, there is nothing that can stop you from freedom in the water if you start from the beginning and learn the sequential steps. If you're afraid in deep water, you haven't taken these steps yet.

You must be in control in order to learn. The nuts and bolts of remaining in control in the water is the key that has freed our 2800 students at Transpersonal Swimming Institute since 1983.

Swimming and performing strokes are different things. Once a person can swim (be confident in water), then he or she can learn strokes.
But "you can't learn what to do with your arms and legs if you're afraid you might not live!"

The nuts and bolts of learning to swim (as opposed to doing strokes, which come later) are showcased in this videotape. Watch two unrehearsed classes of afraid students learning the same way you would if you were in class.

When you're in the water, are you're thinking, "What if I drown? What if I sink? What if I lose it? What if I can't get a breath? What if I don't reach the wall?" If so, please do not  expect yourself to learn swimming mechanics: you are not safe yet.

TSI is the one organization in the United States that gives instructor trainings to train instructors in how to be successful with fearful adults.
